ABOUT US
Welcome to our little slice of honey-heaven in West Texas, where the connection between bees, soil, terrain, and weather tell a story in every jar.
Our journey began on our family farm. Beekeeping wasn't just another new hobby—it was a calling. After my mom passed in 2019, the world shut down from covid. That's when I felt the calling of the bees.

Over time, working with bees taught me about patience, slowing down, weather, God's rhythm, resilience, grief, and spirit. And somewhere between tending hives and harvesting honey, I realized this work was as much mystical as it was practical. I learned that many people arrive at beekeeping through grief, and overcoming significant health crises. Bees offer the medicine of the present moment. And everything from their hive is medicinal: honey, wax for salve, the sound of their buzzing, and the bee air that is breathed during inspections.
Harelik's General Stores

Our roots run deep, tracing back to Harelik’s General Stores—humble establishments founded by my great-grandfather who believed in the power of hard work, good food, and community. His first roadside stand grew to become five general stores, which our cousin Mark Harelik wrote a broadway play about (The Immigrant).

The stores were more than places of commerce; they were gathering spots, storytelling corners, and cornerstones of rural life. They represented the American Dream. That spirit is woven into everything we do today: keep it simple, share what you have, and always leave a little room for wonder.
"The keeping of bees is like the direction of sunbeams."
Henry David Thoreau
Before Bees

I hold a MA in health psychology and had a private practice for over a decade before the bees called. My background is in cookbook publishing, rodeo and music festival management. I am a certified yoga instructor, world traveler, and have hosted retreats in Tulum, Santa Fe, and beyond. After attending many bee conferences and taking apprenticeships, I began teaching beekeeping and honey production in 2022. I always aim to develop my skills and surround myself with good people - and thank Les Crowder, and Georgia Miguez for ongoing mentorship.
